About Baytreat
The history…
Originally built as a log home in 1842 and later expanded into the Beach Hotel in 1904, Baytreat has long been a destination for those seeking rest and community by the water. Guests once arrived by Bay steamer, and today, visitors still enjoy the same coastal breezes and unforgettable sunsets that have graced this Fairhope property for over 180 years.
In 1957, Government Street Presbyterian Church acquired the property and began using it as a retreat and ministry space. A full renovation was completed in 2006 to modernize the facilities while preserving its historic charm. In 2024, Baytreat entered a new chapter as it became part of Trinity Presbyterian Church, continuing its mission to serve as a welcoming place for spiritual growth, connection, and rest.
Whether for a day or an extended stay, we open the doors of this historic space to those who share in our mission of worship, education, and outreach. As we work to refresh and organize the property to make the most of this blessing, we are joyfully accepting inquiries and bookings for groups looking to gather in a place of peace and purpose.
