Retreat, Reflect, Reconnect
Whether you’re watching the sun dip below the Bay, sharing meals on the porch, or walking quiet trails under the pines, Baytreat offers a place to slow down and reconnect—spiritually, socially, and personally.
Welcome to Baytreat:
A Historic Bayside Retreat
Nestled on the quiet shores of Mobile Bay, Baytreat is more than just a retreat center—it is a place of renewal, reflection, and connection. With its sweeping Bay views, shady oaks, and timeless character, this 10-bedroom, 10-bath retreat offers a peaceful escape for groups of all kinds.
Originally built as a log home in 1842 and later expanded into the Beach Hotel in 1904, Baytreat has long been a destination for those seeking rest and community by the water. Guests once arrived by Bay steamer, and today, visitors still enjoy the same coastal breezes and unforgettable sunsets that have graced this Fairhope property for over 180 years.
Baytreat’s Story
In 1957, Government Street Presbyterian Church acquired the property and began using it as a retreat and ministry space. A full renovation was completed in 2006 to modernize the facilities while preserving its historic charm. In 2024, Baytreat entered a new chapter as it became part of Trinity Presbyterian Church, continuing its mission to serve as a welcoming place for spiritual growth, connection, and rest.
Whether for a day or an extended stay, we open the doors of this historic space to those who share in our mission of worship, education, and outreach. We have worked hard to refresh and organize the property to make the most of this blessing, and we are joyfully accepting inquiries and bookings for groups looking to gather in a place of peace and purpose.
How Baytreat Serves
Baytreat has hosted mission camps, officer training, youth retreats, and summer programs and has welcomed organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and Talladega’s Presbyterian Home for Children. Today, it remains a vibrant setting for meaningful gatherings of all kinds. Weddings, receptions, and family gatherings are also welcome.
